Forsheur ("we", "our", "us") operates the Forsheur mobile application and web platform. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
1. Data We Collect
Account information. When you sign in (via email/password, Google, or Apple), we store your email address, display name, and authentication tokens to manage your account.
Video recordings. When you record with the Forsheur app and enable cloud sync, video chunks are transmitted to our server. Videos may be stored in encrypted form (end-to-end encryption) or unencrypted, depending on your settings.
GPS location. While recording, the app collects your device's GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, heading). This data is attached to each video chunk for certification purposes and is transmitted to the server with each heartbeat.
Device information. We collect basic device metadata including device type (iOS/Android), app version, and diagnostic logs when you choose to send them.
Usage data. We log authentication events, video uploads, and map searches for security and operational purposes.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Video certification: GPS coordinates and timestamps are cryptographically bound to your video to prove when and where it was recorded.
- Real-time streaming: When recording, your position and video stream may be visible to authorized users on the live map.
- Account management: Email and credentials are used to authenticate you and manage your sessions.
- Service improvement: Aggregated, non-identifying usage data helps us maintain and improve the platform.
3. End-to-End Encryption
When encryption is enabled, video chunks are encrypted on your device before transmission. The server stores the encrypted data but cannot decrypt or view the video content. Only you (and recipients you authorize) hold the decryption keys.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in these circumstances:
- With your consent: For example, when you share a certified video with a third party.
- Legal obligations: If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- Service providers: Hosting infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
5. Data Retention
Video recordings and associated GPS data are retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the certification service. You may request deletion of your videos at any time. Account data is deleted upon account deactivation, subject to legal retention requirements.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage options, and access controls on our servers. GPS position masking is available for sensitive situations, delaying the disclosure of your location by a configurable duration while keeping it cryptographically certified.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability

8. Children
Forsheur is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use of Forsheur after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
